philosophy

ARCHITECTURE INSPIRES AND ENRICHES.
Architecture resonates with life, it presents ideas, and it speaks meaning. Architecture affirms place and time, adding value and delight. We seek to engage with people who aspire to create architecture and readily acknowledge that our clients are our greatest asset. Our architecture is not necessarily complex but may be sophisticated in its simplicity.

WE STRIVE TO BE OF SERVICE.
From the raw material of site, landscape and history, client, brief and user we orchestrate unique design solutions. We promote modern contemporary design that reflects the content of our particular culture, community and needs of the client. Clarity, economy, functionality and beauty are hallmarks of a successful outcome.

THE CLIENT IS OUR PRIMARY RESOURCE
and it is in the stories of their past experiences and vision for an exciting future that a brief will emerge. It is these stories and ideas that inspire us in the creative process towards a discovered solution often as fascinating to us as it is for the client.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND ESD
(Ecologically Sustainable Development) are central to our creative process. Passive solar/climatic design, natural light and ventilation and the integration of landscape and building are central to this approach. Integrated Design methodology seeking to incorporate as closely as possible owners, occupants, consultants and contractors from the very start of the project is considered fundamental to reducing environmental impacts by ensuring decisions are made holistically.

THE PRACTICE DESIGNS ARE INFLUENCED
by contemporary and vernacular design language from around the world; we remain cosmopolitan in our rural existence! Our ultimate concern however is for intelligent and memorable solutions with beautiful detailing that is a right fit to function, budget and intent.

PRODUCT DESIGN,
interior design, landscape design, urban design all inform our work. The latest technology is embraced in both the office and the field to improve efficiencies, communication skills and options.

Traditional techniques and raw materials are treated with great respect as often here lay the soul of good work. Innovation is however eagerly explored to find both novel solutions and economy of means.
