Tallow Beach Addition

This was a simple upper storey addition to a conventional high set pavilion style beach house. The clients sort an exciting contemporary approach that would enliven the conventional form of the existing house but reinforce their much loved sub-tropical beachside holiday lifestyle. The core philosophy was to offer the user a close relationship/proximity with the materiality and sensuality of the surrounding environment.

Light, views and the elements are pervasive and modulated via frameless full height glazing, operable & bifold shutter walls, skylight and motorised retractable insect screens. A small space expands in its capacity to open floor to ceiling and wall to wall to the outside.
