Muliyamba is a rural home for a family of 5 situated withing lush grazing pastures near Mullumbimby Northern New South Wales. The core values of the design where to engage fully with landscape, elements and materials to produce a dwelling off richness and of place.

The architecture is to be experienced with motion and in space, the experience of entering the site, arrival and the passage through is equally important to the view that is framed and the depth of materials that surround you. The horizontal planes and extended linear form of the building reach out to the wider rural landscape vanishing to the horizon

The Clients had formally lived in a forested environment and were keen for wide open space and a sense of distance. The roofscape gently lifts and opens to invite the northern sun and sky views, glass and layered transparency are generously employed with the house orientated to two axes aligned with water (the dam) and mountain (Mt Chicogan).
